This is my favorite episode of Dink The Little Dinosaur. I thought that raptor kid was so cute. I would have liked to have seen more back story on him. One thing I don't get, though, is why did he survive on just plants? Or rather, how could he? He's a carnivore after all. Hmm...if he survived this long with no meat, would that mean that he would get sick from eating meat? Oh the burning questions...

It does seem odd. I assumed offscreen maybe he ate some fish also. Or they had some species of plant he could eat. I don't remember the species he was, I'd have to go to where the episodes I have are. I guess his species was pure carnivore and not an omnivore species. My guess is they were not trying to be to exact to known science regarding dinosaurs.

Maybe he ate fish, maybe not. It's hard to say. I know he refers to himself as a "leafeater" or whatever plant eating term he used. He didn't seem to imply he ate fish, but he didn't deny it either. So it could go either way.

There may be a plant that meat eaters can eat. I did see an episode where the female dino found a type of vine that put out milk that she used to feed some baby dinos she took are of till she could get them back to their mother. They sucked on the vine bits like it was a bottle. So maybe there is a plant that meat eaters can easily eat and digest in that world.

Could be. Modern day carnivores do sometimes eat a type of plant, like how dogs eat grass.

It could be that, or the show being a bit silly like the Milkweed (I think it was called) actually gives milk and the baby dinos can suck on it like a bottle to get food.
